Well known to most of the UK retailers, Swedish brand Tenson is bringing their Winter Collection to Slide for 2018. Having spent the last few years concentrating on their home market, Tenson is now ready to re-launch in the UK. With a key focus on Ski Wear alongside the Lifestyle Collection, Tenson is entering the market with a really strong offering. Nick Anderson, who also looks after the South of the country for Reusch, will be acting as Country Manager, UK. Initially covering the whole of the UK, with a view to building the sales team as business grows. As of 24th August, almost 83% of the total area of the 2017 show has already been snapped up, with 58 confirmed exhibitors to date. Three first-time exhibitors have already signed up for the show and organisers expect the show to be of a similar size to the previous show. Slide, which is organised by the Snowsport Industries of Great Britain (SIGB), has reported a rise in visitor figures after a number of years of diminishing numbers. The trade show, which plays an important role in the UK snowsport industry, and specifically for snowsport and actionsport retailers, welcomed brands and manufacturers to the International Centre in Telford from 24-26 January to showcase next season’s products. Running ahead of the European actionsport trade show ISPO, the importance of Slide has increased for the UK industry, and the show is the first time both retailers and media can see previews of next winter’s products. Winter is clearly on its way: trees are changing colour, there’s been some early morning fog and dew – frosty mornings can’t be far away. The approach of winter is always good news for the winterport industry. Already, 70 companies, representing almost 200 different brands, have booked up for Slide, to show their products for winter 2017/2018. These brands have filled over 80% of the space available at Slide, but there’s still a good choice of stand locations and sizes on offer. The best prices are for the early birds but prices rise from mid October, so any brands who haven’t yet booked should do so before 15th October to be sure of the best prices and a good choice.
